Cut 1 Tube of Foam, Here is a 6mm x 1" Booby Tube.
Cut the 1" Tube in Half.
Now Take your 1/2" Tube, and Rotate the Foam tube as you close the blades of the Scissors, each side should be done in one cut.
Leaving you with this....
Now you want to remove the Upper Edge of the Remaining Foam. Again, by rotating the Foam as you close the Scissors.
Leaving you with this.....
Now you want to Remove the Lower Edge of the Original Cut, Offer your Scissors up to the Foam Tube as Shown Below

Now for the Tying.... I prefer to use the Dave Downie Method.........By tying the Fly first and adding the Eyes last.Offer your Foam 'Pill' upto your thread and make 1-2 turns around the centre
Once your happy with the Positioning on the Thread, carry on and complete what would normally be the Head of your fly, and the Foam will position itself on-top of the Head.
Make 4-5 Turns to secure the eyes in place.
Now rotate the Eyes Away form you and make 4-5 Turns across the top of the Eyes. By Doing equal turns either side, this keeps the eyes centralised on the fly.
Bring the Thread forward of the eyes and Whip finish, add a drop of Superglue Gel underneath and between the eyes to secure.
Your Finished Article.
The creation of the 'Foam Pill' should take around 15-20 secs, from Start to finish.
